Black-winged Pratincole

BLACK-WINGED PRATINCOLE

Glareola nordmanni

A: Swartvlerksprinkaanvoel

A common summer visitor to southern Africa. A species that has suffered a relatively large population decline over recent years. It can, however, still be found in decent numbers throughout northern and central South Africa, and Zambia. In particular, Kgomo-Kgomo and the Devon farmlands are among the best place to see this species!
