Little Swift

LITTLE SWIFT

Apus affinis

A: Kleinwindswael

Common resident. Identified by having a square tail, that forms almost a half-circle when ‘fanned’. It also has a large white rump. Similar White-rumped Swift has a long, thin forked tail, with a very thin white rump. Horus Swift too has a forked tail, but a very shallow one, and has a large white rump.
