Red-headed Weaver

RED-HEADED WEAVER

Anaplectes rubriceps

A: Rooikopwewer

A stunning bird occurring in the eastern half of the subregion. Adult male with all red head is spectacular. Female and non-breeding male look the same with pink bills, and a yellow wash to the head. Their nest is a very untidy jumble of sticks, in a typical weaver fashion.
