Reed Cormorant

REED CORMORANT

Phalacrocorax africanus

A: Rietduiker

A common bird of inland water bodies. The similar Crowned Cormorant replaces it along the west coast of the subregion. Juveniles show a entirely white belly, and are often mistaken for the much larger and bulkier White-breasted Cormorant.
