Amur Falcon

AMUR FALCON

Falco amurensis

A: Oostelike Rooipootvalk

O: Eastern Red-footed Kestrel

A very common summer visitor from western Asia where they inhabit the vast grassland interior of South Africa. Often seen in large flocks adorning telephone wires and fences. One always searches through the flocks in the hope of finding the scarce, and very similar Red-footed Falcon.
