Yellow-billed Egret

YELLOW-BILLED EGRET

Egretta intermedia

A: Geelbekwitreier

O: Intermediate Egret

Smaller than the Great Egret, and only present at water bodies, nearly always with flooded grass, and marshy areas. It has a very distinct ‘shape’ to it, with a fairly short, kinked neck. Also shows yellow on the upperlegs, but this is often difficult to make out in the field.
